  1. I bought Mr. Sweet’s baroque traverso (in maple with corps de rĂ©change for 440 and 415hz) opus 622 back I think in 1985. I took it with me in 1986 on my first trip to Sarawak, Borneo, which I have made my home. I have played it in Dayak longhouses, esp. the sarabande from Bach’s partita. I love this instrument and I salute late Mr. Sweet upon his providing us with high quality *affordable* traversi. Following my example, both my brothers bought such flutes. Mr. Sweet was a member of a long and honorable line of Connecticut woodwind instrument makers. Not far from from Washington, CT lies Fluteville, and there are instrument in the Yale Collection. In memory of Ralph Sweet, I keep his traverso in good condition and play it with joy
